THE PLAYFUL TILE
Feltro is a system of large-scale magnetic tiles and the first product developed by Feltro Inc.
The tiles were created with an expressed interest to promote open-ended play within shared family living spaces. Feltro’s sophisticated colours, materials and magnetic connectivity provide both adults and children with an outlet for creativity, curiosity, decoration and learning.
Driven by its versatility and adaptability, Feltro has been used by families, educators, interior designers, and organizations to create engaging and inspired learning environments. Feltro is trusted by some of North America’s busiest public libraries, including the Toronto Public Library. Our tiles can be found in branches across the GTA. WHAT WE’RE MADE OF
Feltro’s magic comes from a combination of carefully designed components that are assembled in Canada.
The tile surface is made from an engineered plush laminate of STANDARD 100 Oeko-tex certified wool felt and EVA foam. Feltro is free of heavy metals, phthalates or other harmful toxic elements. Magnets are securely sealed to the tiles within a patent-pending ABS plastic enclosure.
As we continue to develop and improve these components and release new shapes and designs, product images on our website, packaging and marketing material may differ from the product currently available in our shop.
Our current pack offerings come with different combinations of these modular shapes.
MAINTAINING YOUR TILES
Wool is a natural fibre with inherent water repellency and stain resistance. Because of this, our wool felt tiles can be cleaned and maintained in a few different ways.

Surface debris can be cleaned by brushing the tile surface with your hand, a lint roller or vacuum.

For significant spills or dirt, hand wash the soiled area with cold water and mild soap. Make sure to saturate the area and dab the stain gently. Avoid aggressive rubbing as it can continue the felting process and change the surface appearance of the felt.

If a deeper clean is necessary, Feltro is machine washable when a cold, low agitation cycle is used with limited soap. Wash and air-dry, just as you would your favourite wool sweater. Tiles dry best standing up on their edge or lying flat on a towel. Do NOT put wool tiles in the dryer.
- While our tiles are machine washable, we recommend doing this only if hand-washing doesn’t do the trick.
New tiles may show small surface colour variations which are a normal part of the materials and manufacturing processes used to make Feltro. Slight shedding of wool fibres is also a natural occurrence of felted wool and will decrease over time.
SAFETY
Feltro offers lasting enjoyment when used with care and consideration. Do not place the tiles near direct heat sources for long periods of time. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may fade the tile surface colour. Each production run is subject to strict third-party toy safety testing. Our tile construction conforms to ASTM F-963, CPSIA & CCPSA toy safety specifications for ages 18 months and up.
While we stand by all these precautions to make Feltro a safe toy, please be aware of the following WARNING:
This product contains small magnets. Swallowed magnets can cause complications leading to serious infections and death. Seek immediate medical attention if magnets are swallowed or inhaled. Should any magnet or connector become loose, stop using the tile immediately, and contact us at hello@playfeltro.com to arrange a repair or replacement tile.
